The Lonesome West\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>by\u00a0Martin McDonagh\u00a0<\/strong>performed by White Cobra Productions<\/p>\n

Stunning set, excellent acting, a great evening’s entertainment.\u00a0Is there a theme developing in this year’s Festival?\u00a0There have been 4 deaths, dissatisfaction with the church and\u00a0the principle characters dressed in clothes from the recycle bin.\u00a0Set in Ireland’s remote West Coast the two brothers could do with a good cleaner for the house and maybe a Deliveroo service.\u00a0Their continual bickering over crisps and religious cheap tatt was
\nthe farcical element which masked the deep tragic\u00a0background to their existence.
\nEveryone had skeletons in the cupboard which seemed to be resolved by the suicide of the priest, but inevitably exploded again.\u00a0Thank you White Cobra for bringing Martin’s often controversial\u00a0drama to the Gaiety stage and giving us food for thought\u00a0about the future of theatre.<\/p>\n
