I was fortunate enough to win Young Actor of Mann in 2019 after studying with both Jacqui Hawkes and Carrie Hunt, to whom I am very grateful for their support. Following Young Actor of Mann, I was lucky enough to perform with societies such as the Douglas Choral Union, Taylorian Productions and Stage Door Entertainment in productions including \u2018Spamalot!\u2019 \u2018Singin in the Rain\u2019 and Willy Russell\u2019s \u2018Our Day Out\u2019. My final role before leaving the island was Cowardly Lion\/Dorothy in \u2018The Wizard of Oz\u2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have always known since a very young age that acting was my chosen career, and when I was lucky enough to win Young Actor of Mann, I put the prize money into my professional training in the UK. Auditioning during the COVID Pandemic proved challenging however thanks to my wonderful acting coach Lisa Kreisky (a previous Young Actor of Mann winner!), my fantastic teachers Rachel and Christine Wild, and sponsorship from the Douglas Choral Union, I earned a place at READ College in Reading and began my training on their Acting course in 2021 under the tutelage of the great Seamus Allen, an influential figure in my training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon graduating with the top school prize for Acting, I was awarded a place at Fourth Monkey Actor Training Company from which I graduated with a BA (Hons) in Acting in 2024. My training in London furthered my passion for Shakespeare and led to roles such as Goneril in King Lear, York in Henry VI and classic plays such as No\u00ebl Coward\u2019s \u2018Private Lives\u2019 and Aphra Behn\u2019s \u2018The Rover\u2019 After returning home shortly after graduation, my time has been split between the island and the UK in order to further my professional career in acting, with lots of exciting projects coming up! For me, winning Young Actor of Mann was the catalyst for my career as a professional actor, I know I wouldn\u2019t be where I am today without it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
