{"id":4427,"date":"2024-04-01T19:52:12","date_gmt":"2024-04-01T18:52:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.madf.im\/?p=4427"},"modified":"2024-04-02T12:10:03","modified_gmt":"2024-04-02T11:10:03","slug":"reviews-of-the-second-night-of-the-festival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/madf.im\/?p=4427","title":{"rendered":"Review of the second night of the festival"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Last night we enjoyed the first of our Full Length Plays,\u00a0<strong><em>Lilies on the Land<\/em><\/strong> by\u00a0<strong>Lion&#8217;s Part<\/strong> performed by <strong>White Cobra<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>We went from English tea in the garden on Saturday to\u00a0full blown life on the farm.<br \/>\nI hope they didn&#8217;t use <em><strong>Victoria Station&#8217;s<\/strong><\/em> cab company to get to Sussex\u00a0or maybe it was the <em><strong>Driver <\/strong><\/em>who dumped their cases in the mud?\u00a0This was a beautiful series of scenes in the lives of the Land Army Girls\u00a0presenting the fun, fear and hopes of these famous but\u00a0often forgotten young girls.<\/p>\n<p>We laughed at the detailed description of the hardships of\u00a0no flush toilets, the sh*** of the farmyards and\u00a0the creation of new life on the farm.\u00a0We moved to the music in the Saturday Night dances,\u00a0felt sadness for\u00a0the fleeting relationships with the nearby aircrew.\u00a0Lovely singing and those boxes moved deftly like a 3D game of\u00a0Tetris.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you White\u00a0Cobra for an entertaining and<br \/>\nthought provoking evening.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Ron Beswick<\/p>\n<p>Tonight<strong> White Cobra <\/strong>presents<strong> The Father\u00a0<\/strong>by<strong> Florian Zeller.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Seen through the eyes of a man with dementia,<br \/>\n<strong><em>The Father<\/em><\/strong> exposes the emotional toll it has on him and his family.\u00a0Moving and at times heart-breaking, Andre\u2019s story will be recognised by all too many families.\u00a0Blistering honest but ultimately uplifting, it\u2019s a story of our times.<br \/>\nRecently an Oscar and BAFTA winning film starring Anthony Hopkins and Olivia Coleman,<br \/>\nthis production includes the founders and stalwarts of White Cobra\u00a0and original music by Martin Heath.<\/p>\n<p><em>NB.
