Andy has been involved in theatre for over 20 years. His first show as Stage Manager was for Douglas Choral Union’s production of ‘Fiddler On The Roof’. He then went to stage manage ‘Sound of Music’ and ‘Witches of Eastwick’. The latter giving him his scariest moment where he had to hide behind a couch and clip 3 witches into flying harnesses in 35 seconds! Since then he has covered many shows with Parker & Snell, Centre Stage Productions, Manx Ballet Company and Hog The Limelight. He has been set many challenges with straight plays, pantos and a personal highlight for him of the first amateur production in the UK of ‘Les Miserables’.
Andy’s festival with MADF was the 2019 Easter Festival of Plays and has been with us ever since. He has often stage managed local entries winning the best Set and Stage Design trophy three times. He has also supported winners across with his favourite production being ‘The Lover’ by ‘Hog The Limelight’ where this was performed at the AETF regional finals in Saltburn and BAWF national final in Woking.
We are indebted to Andy’s unwavering support and enthusiasm for the arts and MADF and are delighted to be able to honour him with a life membership.
